ASIC Solutions has been offering a range of Electronic System Design services since 1992, initially centred on our core skills of ASIC design. However, the vastly increased capabilities of FPGAs over the last thirty years or so have made them a better solution to any design project we have considered in recent times. Design security is also enhanced by use of some FPGA families, particularly those originally from Actel.

We aim to offer a totally flexible approach to solving your engineering problems and bringing your product to market. If all you need is an on site consultant by the hour to work with your in-house engineering teams to fill skills gaps or supplement existing expertise, we can provide this. However, we can also contract to design either just your core FPGA/ASIC or your total system, including any embedded or production test software that may be needed. If required, we can supply fully tested sub assemblies for your product. We have designed products for consumer, industrial, and military sectors, with production volumes from one offs to 100,000s per annum. Partial system redesign as a solution to component obsolescence forms a significant fraction of our recent projects. During Covid especially, we undertook redesigns to work arround excessive lead times for key components, at least one of which still remained a cost effective solution after leadtimes for the original components were normalised.

We have also jointly developed products with customers on a risk sharing basis.
